CONCEPT
The reference image that guided the project is animated by a formal research into the expressive potential that polycarbonate can offer to architectural projects. We therefore thought of an organic proposal where the qualities of the Dott. Gallina products could be inflected according to different degrees of complexity and articulation in a continuous dialogue between interior space and landscape. The project, therefore, explores the possible variations of a module and the possible interactions that this variation can establish between the surface and three-dimensional space.
The concepts that guided the development of the project are:
– The surface that reflects the landscape
– The surface as a membrane that translates light and shadows into blurred patterns
– The surface as transparency
– The surface as a colour
– The surface as light
– The surface that becomes a three-dimensional shape (and re-elaborates reflection, nuances and transparency).
The proposal wants to interpret and give an architectural image to the concept of contemporary industry that takes up the challenge of the transition between mass production and product customization that must adapt to different final needs.
